Litigator Linda Gach Ray draws from more than 45 years of resolving disputes and advising, representing and helping companies, fiduciaries and individuals navigate through contentious challenges. Her current practice focus includes trust and estate disputes, contested conservatorship matters and will contests, but her background of experience is far broader.

Linda brings a depth of prior experience in bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation, constructive termination, defamation, and real estate disputes to her insightful and patient handling of fiduciary work in trusts, estates and probate litigation.

Linda was trained to keep her clients closely informed of what is happening in their cases, which has eased her clients’ path to resolution of their matters. Linda’s own practice path is notable.

After graduating UCLA Law School in 1979 and passing the California Bar Exam, she became one of the first women to join the Century City, Los Angeles firm, Alschuler, Grossman & Pines (AG&P), and eventually the first working mother at the firm. After being invited to the partnership of that firm, she founded her own firm, Owens & Gach Ray, with AG&P partner and trial attorney Rob Owens, in 1987. Their litigation boutique has served Southern California and out of state businesses, commercial institutions and individuals for almost four decades.

Known as the consummate, caring professional, Linda has spent a life in L.A. law. She has deposed luminaries including Henry Kissinger, among others, steered financial intuitions through their borrowers’ bankruptcy matters, served as technical advisor on a law centric television show, and defended a large local movie studio in an array of litigation over the course of many years.

Linda’s 20+ years of work on the LA Superior Court Probate Volunteer Panel included complex matters involving special needs clients, requiring creative and sensitive solutions. Serving as a  court-appointed conservator in a case that spanned eight years, Linda provided sage and protective advice creating an enduring safety net for a client with means who was unable to navigate our complex world without close financial, emotional and other types of support and supervision.

Clients appreciate the wide resources that Linda brings to their matters and her ongoing communication on case progress. She is a native Angeleno with an extensive and productive professional network. It helps that she’s a self-declared people person who is an excellent listener and leads with confidence and curiosity.

In addition to being a law firm founder, Linda furthered her entrepreneurship with ownership interests in two Minor Leage Baseball teams.

In 1997, Linda and Rob became the owners and operators of the Helena Brewers/Provo Angels, part of the Pioneer League, for eight years. Later, they added a minority interest in the Lancaster JetHawks in the California League. Linda was deeply involved in the daily operations of the ball club, from budgetary issues to local and league-wide sponsorships, public relations and community affairs. She was awarded Female Executive of the Year by the Pioneer League during the ownership tenure.

Linda earned recognition as Comerica Bank/Los Angeles Lakers Woman Entrepreneur of The Year in 2013, which also reflects her contributions to Los Angeles’ professional, philanthropic and civic organizations. Her leadership has supported Special Olympics Southern California, the Beverly Hills Educational Foundation and Stop Cancer, founded by Dr. Armand Hammer. She has also served as a leader with the Women’s Leadership Network of Jewish Vocational Services.

A former 6 year board member of the UCLA Foundation, Linda earned her B.S. from UCLA and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she was on the UCLA Law Review, published an award winning case note that has been cited and reproduced in a case book, and she continues to mentor upcoming generations of business and legal professionals.
