Business litigator and trial attorney Justin Raymond leverages the litigation process to protect clients’ business interests, advance their commercial opportunities, and safeguard their legal rights. Justin’s courtroom experience spans almost a decade, with the majority of that time as a private practitioner in high-stakes litigation.
As both a plaintiff and defense attorney, Justin has successfully represented a diverse clientele, from individuals to large corporations, from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, real estate, apparel, beauty and wellness, solar energy, and professional sports.
Well versed in all aspects of trial and arbitration proceedings, he successfully advocates on behalf of clients involved in a variety of legal disputes. These range from business litigation involving claims like breach of contract, partnership disputes, trade secrets, and breach of fiduciary duty to employment law, class actions, defamation, fraud, and even criminal defense.
Justin customizes his approach to every matter he handles to achieve the individual goal of each client. In some cases, a well-timed call to opposing counsel does the trick to avert protracted, and expensive, litigation. In other situations, he counsels his clients to take the matter to trial, like when he was part of the trial team that won a jury award of $37 million, including $10 million in punitive damages, for a real estate developer who sued the owner of an active oil field for breach of contract, trespass, and nuisance.
Justin began his legal career in Big Law at an international, white-shoe law firm. During that time, he served as a fellow to Public Counsel, providing much needed legal counsel to low income individuals. He later moved his practice to the litigation boutique Ellis George Cipollone O’Brien Annaguey LLP, where he rose to partner.
In a case of “it’s never too late to follow your dreams,” Justin took a brief break from private practice to serve his community as a deputy public defender. For three years, he represented indigent clients, from arraignment through trial, facing a variety of criminal charges.
Justin’s hybrid experience lends him a fresh perspective to helping clients untangle themselves from complex legal disputes.
