Business litigator Jason Kelly uses his experience in complex commercial disputes to help companies of all sizes resolve disruptive lawsuits and find pragmatic solutions aligned with their goals. His background in Big Law and success in courtrooms and dispute resolution forums across California influence the strategies he deploys to protect businesses and entrepreneurs in claims of fraud, breach of contract, anticompetitive behavior, and other allegations. Jason also represents municipalities in their complex litigation and civil rights disputes, with his government clients relying on his actionable strategies, shared sense of public duty, and strength in handling sensitive issues.
Representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Jason has a broad-based commercial litigation practice, which ranges from large class actions involving securities and antitrust allegations to trademark infringement, real property, and employment disputes.
As recently enacted privacy and data laws create new challenges for California companies, Jason is monitoring legislative, regulatory, and court developments to keep clients compliant with the CCPA, CPRA, and other statutes. He earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. certification (CIPP/US) and Europe certification (CIPP/E) from the industry-leading International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Jason’s exposure to numerous corporate and commercial enterprises has helped him develop a deep affinity for business owners, their challenges, and most of all their vision for their companies. In addition to extensive contracts law experience, he has depth in antitrust, price-fixing, and unfair competition concerns.
To preserve clients’ profitability and protect their business interests, Jason often moves beyond traditional litigation blueprints to develop customized and expedited strategies for resolution. He extends the value of his experience in advice and counsel focused on litigation prevention and regulatory compliance.
Jason served as a clerk for the Hon. Leslie J. Abrams Gardner of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Georgia. He also was a judicial extern for the Hon. Virginia A. Phillips of the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Jason’s early career highlights include associate positions with Am Law 100 law firms as well as an internship with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In 2023, Jason helped found the law firm Annaguey McCann to elevate the lawyer-client experience. His collegial style and steadfast commitment to putting clients and their needs in the forefront are deliberate, defining, and ultimately what he believes every client deserves.
An alumnus of USC Gould School of Law and the University of California, Los Angeles, Jason also has a background in pro bono matters, which range from family adoptions to class action litigation and trial work in federal court.
